Pepper Chicken Dry

Pepper Chicken Dry, chicken dry, spciy, chicken masala

Pepper Chicken Dry is a Spicy dish, which is simple and quick, and definitely a treat to your taste bud. Here the chicken is cooked with pepper and other spices. This can be had as a starter, along with lime juice, or a side dish in the main course.     



1. Chicken - 750 grams
2. Ginger paste - 1 tbsp.
3. Garlic paste - 1 tbsp.
4. Poppy seeds - 1 tbsp.
5. Turmeric - 1/4 tsp.
6. Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp.
7. Cinnamon and cloves crushed - 1/ tsp.
8. Fresh pepper corns crushed - 1 to 2 tbsp.
9. Oil - 1 tbsp.
10. Salt to taste

Cooking method:

1. Clean the chicken and cut into small pieces.

2. Soak the poppy seeds in little water for 15 minutes and make a paste of it, and keep it aside.

3. In a non-stick pan, heat the oil, add green chilly paste, and cloves and cinnamon powder (crushed coarsely).

4. Add ginger and garlic paste, and fry until the raw smell goes.

5. Then add chicken pieces. After giving a stir add salt to it. Give it again a stir and keep it covered for 10 minutes.

5. Add red chilly powder, turmeric powder and 1/2 cup water.

6. Cook the chicken till tender, and just before its getting dry add poppy seeds paste and pepper powder.

* white poppy seeds are added for thickness, texture and also give added flavor to the recipe. It also gives a cooling effect since the recipe is meant to be spicy.
* since the recipe is dry, I have avoided onions.
