Mutter Paneer

Mutter Paneer, a classic dish, is popular in both Indian-homes and restaurants. The dish is a favorite among the North-Indians especially. Any festival or get-togethers, a dish made of Paneer, which is nothing but the Indian Cottage Cheese is a must. Mutter Panner is a Paneer dish combined with peas vegetable, which gives that fresh sweet taste in the curry, packed with mild spices. The dish can be enhanced with adding nuts in a pureed form and for more rich gravy, cream (malai) is added for that silky smooth texture.

Although paneer is loved by all, it is considered a good substitute for vegetarians for its nutritional benefits. Previously, I had blogged Paneer Butter Masala, packed with various spices and for the richness cashewnut paste was added along with other rich ingredients. Whereas here, the Mutter Paneer is given that classic simple taste, as the dish is everyday fare in most of the homes, especially during the season of fresh peas. Here the Mutter Paneer dish is without ginger and garlic but tastes heavenly in its own way. And above all, to get the creamy texture, curd is added in the curry.
